Large U-Shape
A more recent evolution of traditional Bolga-Ayia baskets, the large U-Shape Basket has become one of our most popular designs. Inspired by the classic shopping tote, its comfortable shape makes it easy to carry while providing plenty of room for everyday essentials.
Distinctive tulip-shaped sides extend upward to help support taller items like fresh flowers, vegetables, and market finds. Incredibly stylish, beautiful, and practical, the Large U-Shape Basket is perfect for the farmers market, a shopping trip, or as a statement piece in the home.
Rectangle
The Rectangle Baskets are sold individually but made in sets of 3, much like nesting dolls, with small, medium, and large sizes. These baskets feature a stable flat bottom and angular sides, which makes them especially popular for securely stacking items, storing behind the car seat, and fitting into angular spaces. Each handwoven basket is crafted with care, highlighting the unique artistry of Ghanaian craftsmanship.
Double Oval
The Double Oval is our most durable design among Bolga-Ayia baskets. Its double-weave construction ensures that the warp and weft of the basket are woven tightly, while the wrapped edge and double handles enhance strength and support. Designed for heavy lifting and everyday durability. The quality of the weaving is especially beautiful, with some handwoven baskets resembling beadwork through their intricate patterns, designs, and colors.
